New project just started!
Healing nature or the return of the beast – perceptions and emotions towards the wolf in Germany. A case study in Lower Saxony.
The return of the wolf is subject to an intensive discussion in Germany. While some people welcome the wolf as a sign of a re-wilding nature, others perceive it as a dangerous animal that causes damages and spreads fear. No other animal triggers such diverse emotional responses among the German population. This project seeks to understand how these differing perceptions and emotions are formed, and studies their underlying factors such as knowledge, personal experiences, and historical aspects.
